This is a personal account of Adriana’s Vaccine-related Story. Adriana completed the Autoimmune Sisters vaccine-related story form and submitted with permission to share.
Adriana’s Vaccine-related Story: I am pro medical freedom and respecting people’s personal health decisions. Those who decide to get the shot have every right to get it and those who decide not to get it have every right not to. I also believe where there is a risk of side effects or death there should always be a choice.

But life situations, stress, and going off track with my diet has caused it to resurface along with some new health struggles. Currently getting back to eating well, healing self-care practices, running tests and adding new gut healing supplements to my regimen.
Covid-19 Related Questions:
Did you already have Covid-19? Yes
When did you have Covid-19? December 2020-January 2021
Please explain your symptoms and experiences while sick with Covid-19. It started off with painful lower back pain at 10PM at night. I couldn’t sleep all night because I had to keep switching sides because it hurt too much to stay on either side. I woke up to continued back pain only when laying down, having a slight fever & slight headache. The fever lasted a couple days maybe 3 and the headache for a day. The aches lasted about 3 or 4 days. I lost my taste & smell on the third or fourth day. Had fatigue about a week.
I didn’t have breathing issues at all until I started to fear ‘what if my breathing is next since new symptoms seemed to come day by day’ I had a little bit of shortness of breath from the fear. Fear is real when it comes to covid because of all the stories I had heard. But once I made a point to talk back to the fear and reassure myself that I will get better, the shortness of breath went away.
Since having the vaccine, have you been tested for Covid-19 antibodies? Yes
What were the results of your Covid-19 antibody test? Waiting for results.
Opposed to the Vaccine:
Why do you oppose the Covid-19 vaccine? There are many reasons I do not believe in getting the COVID shots. This article explains a lot of my reasonings: 18 Reasons I Won’t be Getting the Vaccine | The Defender.
I believe having antibodies from naturally contracting COVID offers greater protection than a man-made shot that has no long-term testing. I also believe the answer is teaching people about the importance of health, building your immune system and having optimal Vitamin D levels: Vitamin D deficiency and COVID-19: A case-control study at a tertiary care hospital in India | National Library of Medicine.
There are Real Possible Risks to Getting the Shots:
In addition, there are real possible risks to getting the shots. Many people have been reported dead after getting the shot or gotten very sick. Often this correlation is being ignored:

COVID Shots Doing More Harm Than Good:
I see the evidence all around that the COVID shots are doing more harm than good. COVID cases were going down in my area until people started getting the shot & then a strong second wave came. It’s not just happening here. Look at Israel, one of the most vaccinated countries & they have become a hotspot for COVID: Israel is now the world’s Covid hotspot: Cases soar despite country’s trail-blazing vaccine roll-out – sparking fears other highly-vaccinated countries will be hit by another wave due to jabs’ waning immunity | Daily Mail
Also, California: COVID spreading fast in well-vaccinated California counties | The Mercury News
And in Europe: Our World in Data
Are you opposed to all vaccines or just to the Covid-19 vaccine? No, I’m not opposed to all vaccines. I think some of the ones I got as a child were beneficial, however, I don’t think they are all necessary and many use harmful ingredients. My health struggles began shortly after getting a hepatitis vaccine to go on a mission trip over seas. I think that was a big factor and I don’t want anymore vaccines unless there is good research data & doctors I trust finding that a vaccine is beneficial.
Interested in Sharing Your Autoimmune Sister Story?
Sharing your autoimmune story is the very core of what we believe in at Autoimmune Sisters. We believe in bio-individuality; that every woman is uniquely designed and therefore there is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
In addition to sharing your autoimmune story, we are now accepting submissions for those of you interested in sharing your story and how it relates to the Covid-19 vaccine. Keep reading to learn more!
With respect, there is a significant difference between sharing your personal experience and sharing third-party material. We all have the right and authority to speak about the former, and Autoimmune Sisters provides a unique and valuable platform for doing that. But publishing a subjective list of news stories in this forum is a concerning change of direction. I hope Autoimmune Sisters reconsiders this editorial choice.
Ever since I published this website in October 2019, I have invited women to come and share their stories. I have always believed that women have a God-given right to share their story here, no matter what that looks like and in whatever format their story is submitted. The reason we ask for supporting data in the vaccine-related story form, is because we believe that it’s valuable for anyone reading the Vaccine-related Stories to see the reference point that the story author drew their own conclusions from. Especially when the writers personal experience is influenced by scientific journals, peer-reviewed journals and/or third party media. Therefore, I refuse to edit a sister’s story because after all, it is their story.
I would like to invite you, if you feel led, to come and share your Vaccine-related story with our community.
Thank you, auto-immune sisters, for allowing women- all women regardless of their stance on this subject- to share their stories and resources! I believe that providing resources allows the sister providing their information to explain their reasoning and back it up with support. I am grateful that there is a platform such as this that allows us all to speak our truth because it is just that… Our truth. You have a wonderful platform and I am so grateful that God is using you in this way to allow us all to get our stories out there regardless of our stance in the situation.
