MEET JASMINE
My name is Jasmine Jones, and I’m located in Lafayette, Louisiana, and recently I started working again as a test administrator. I’m apart of a military family, and I’m a veteran of the Army myself I work hard to embrace the everyday challenges of life.
DIAGNOSIS
I have generalized Myasthenia Gravis with thymoma my story started with double/blurry vision and a trip to the ER that began my journey. The thymoma that I had was removed in December of 2018. My symptoms included weakness of limbs, double/blurry vision, speech, and chewing issues, drooping of the upper eyelid, and shortness of breath. The current doctors I see are neurologists, endocrinologists, primary, and oncologists. The treatments that I have had are IVIG (Intravenous immunoglobulin), plasmapheresis, and robotic thymectomy. When it comes to medications, I take several during the day and night for daily functions.
LIFE CHANGE
Myasthenia Gravis has changed my life significantly by my relationships in the way individuals interact with me and even how I care for myself. My mental state can be impaired from time to time. Even when I had to leave my job I’m now starting to process of working again slowly but surely. Life is unpredictable but it can have a fantastic impact.
HEALING
I’ve done acupuncture to help with stress and even working on losing weight. Changing the way I eat is beneficial as this can help with how the body functions. I believe in keeping a pleasant stable environment around to help with health.
STRUGGLE
I struggle with the unknown and not knowing how this illness with affect me for the rest of my life. I have my moments when I want to just be alone and not deal with what this disorder has done to me. I know everything happens for a reason.
INSPIRATION

I’m all about strength ! I always say if it’s me or you on a treadmill who do you think will get of first? I’m so passionate about who I am as a woman. I’ve dealt with pain, adversity, and setbacks. I might fail but you can’t say she didn’t try!
