With everything that is going on within the world, it can be easy to get sucked into negative thinking. This can lead to a lot of anger, sadness, and difficult emotions in your life. But, it does not have to be this way.
Yes, it is extremely important to feel your emotions. Allow yourself the time to process your emotions when difficult situations arise. But, it is even more important to know how to shift your mindset to bring yourself out of the negative thinking cycle. Today I will be sharing an important concept to help you shift your mindset away from fear and anxiety. These may seem like simple concepts, but they are mindset shifts that can truly change your life if you continue to keep these in the front of your mind.
Take Back Control & Trust
When it comes to difficult situations we often experience a lot of emotions due to unknowns and a lack of control. Chronic conditions frequently have a long list of unknowns and variables. This can be extremely daunting and lead to a lot of anxiety and fear.
One mindset shift that can really help is going back to the concept of control and focusing on what is in your control; your mindset and your actions.
You can’t control other people, what happens in the world, and most variables, but you can always CONTROL YOU. If you continue to remind yourself of this concept, you will feel much more at ease knowing that you have only two things to focus on: your mindset and your actions. There is peace in the simplicity of this concept.
So what about everything else? What do I do about all the other people around me? About the state of the world? This is where TRUST comes in. No matter your faith or beliefs, you must surrender and trust that everything will be okay. If you believe in God/the Universe/Allah, place all your worry onto them and trust that they will guide you through that.
When it comes to trust it is also important to remember to trust in yourself. Trust that you will be able to handle whatever comes your way. Trust that you will be supported and you will make it through, no matter what.
I know this may be simple but if you adopt these important mindset shifts you will be able to handle anxiety, fear, and anything that is thrown your way. No, all your problems won’t just magically disappear, but if you frame them in a new way, it will surely help.
