MEET NIA
My name is Nia Renzi, I am 19 years old and I’m from Massachusetts. I have worked with horses since I was 7 years old, and I recently committed to Merrimack College for Environmental.
DIAGNOSIS
In 3rd grade, I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata. In the beginning it did not bother me but as years passed it began to affect me. I have gone through so many treatments including shots in my head and different medications. I currently am on a blind study right now.
LIFE CHANGE
It has made me very depressed at times, and I find myself angry and jealous of the people with full heads of hair, I ask myself sometimes if I’m good enough. It is very hard feeling different, and seeing all your beautiful hair fall out is something that is difficult to deal with.
HEALING
My friends and family have helped me learn to love myself more, and I am spreading awareness on Alopecia as well
STRUGGLE
- Self love
- Confidence
- Happiness
INSPIRATION
“Alopecia doesn’t define you”
Alopecia may be a huge part of my life, but it doesn’t define who I am.
