This is a personal account of Tara’s Vaccine-related Story. Tara completed the Autoimmune Sisters vaccine-related story form and submitted with permission to share.
Tara’s Vaccine-related Story: I was EXTREMELY hesitant to get the vaccine, especially with so many health struggles already and I already eat right, move my body, take supplements, so I should be fine…right?
Initially a doctor of mine told me not to get the vaccine with my autoimmune/chronic illnesses. But after he did more research himself, came back and shared what he found, all in love. His words didn’t make my decision, but his personal research and care helped me open my mind to it.
Many long late night talks with my husband, researching, reading the ingredients, listening to all sides.
Our church community is made up of many elderly, cancer patients and others living with chronic illnesses. These precious people actually received the vaccine months before I did, they knew what they were doing, they never coerced anyone into doing what they did, many expressed concern, we prayed over it all together. Their stories week after week of getting the vaccine and all, every single one of them being completely fine, definitely helped me make my decision.
Lastly, it’s being with an already vulnerable group of people, I did it because I want to try to be well for them, I want to do my best to be well myself. I made an informed choice on my own, and I don’t regret it. I do not believe every horror story on the internet, and I don’t listen to the news, but I do believe every story of the people I see every week, day in and day out.
